IELTS Listening Test အေၾကာင္းကို အပိုင္း(၈) မွာ ေဖာ္ျပၿပီးေနာက္ အခု အပိုင္း (၉) မွာေတာ့ IELTS Reading Test နဲ႕ပတ္သက္လို႕ေျပာျပမွာ ျဖစ္ပါတယ္။
IELTS Reading Test မွာ Reading Passage (၃)ခု ေပးထားပါတယ္။ စုစုေပါင္းေျဖဆိုခ်ိန္ (၁)နာရီ ရပါတယ္။ ဒါေၾကာင့္ Reading Passage တစ္ခုစီကို မိနစ္ (၂၀)အတြင္း ၿပီးစီးေအာင္ အေျဖရွာရမွာျဖစ္ပါတယ္။ Listening Test မွာလို Answer Transfer လုပ္ဖို႕ (၁၀)မိနစ္ ထပ္မေပးတဲ႕အတြက္ မိမိအေျဖမ်ားကို အေျဖလႊာမွာ တစ္ခါတည္းေရးထားဖို႕ အၾကံျပဳခ်င္ပါတယ္။
IELTS Reading Test ေမးခြန္းဟာ IELTS (Academic) အတြက္တစ္မ်ဳိး IELTS (General Training) အတြက္က တစ္မ်ဳိးျဖစ္ပါတယ္။ ေမးခြန္းေတြ မတူပါဘူး။ General Trainning Reading Passage ေတြက Academic Reading Passage ေတြထက္ ပိုလြယ္ပါတယ္။ Academic Reading Test ဥပမာကို ေအာက္ပါ Link မွာ ေလ့လာေျဖဆိုၾကည့္ႏိုင္ပါတယ္။

Some Tips for IELTS Reading
1. Familiarize yourself with all those different question types.
2. Practise specific strategies in answering each type of the questions.
3. Clear your mind and concentrate on the task as you read. Practice to have 100% attention. Focus is the key. It’s a good idea to underline the key information as you read.
4. Know whether you need to skim or scan based on the question. (Skimming is reading a passage to get a general idea of the content. Scanning is trying to locate information quickly and it has no relation to comprehension of the passage.)
5. Read the instruction very carefully and follow it well throughout the test.
6. Develop your speed reading skills. You must learn to scan the passage quickly to locate the information you need. Remember your aim is not to study the text fully but to find the answers.
7. Don’t try to understand the full passage when you don’t have to. Your task is to locate answers only. Most questions test your ability to locate specific information given to you and then to comprehend the sentence or sentences which contain that information.
8. Develop your vocabulary. But don’t expect to understand every word from the Reading Passages. They will use synonyms and paraphrase sentences to test how wide your vocabulary is. To prepare for this you can do this as you practise reading: Note down the key vocabulary you must know to get the answer, write it down in your vocabulary book along with its meaning and example sentence and make sure you review your record of vocabulary as often as possible.
9. Don’t leave anything empty. You will not lose points for wrong answers. If you are not sure, try to predict an answer. But remember the word(s) you use must be taken from the Reading Passage; you must not change the form of the word(s) in the text.
10. Learn to spot key words and use them correctly. You should also check whether the key words can be paraphrased.
11. Check your spelling. Be careful to use singular and plural correctly.
12. Prepare properly. Practise. Learn from the mistakes made. Keep practising till you hit your targeted score.
