Having left home at an early age, Chaw loves to learn through experiences. She enjoys exploring new places and appreciating different cultures in her free time.

The following are the message and IELTS tips shared by Chaw.
I owe my greatest gratitude to Tr Wendy, who helped me increase my IELTS writing score from 6.5 to 7.5. After getting a 6.5 for the writing component on my first round, I felt like I couldn’t get it any higher. Not knowing where my weaknesses were, I felt very lost. However, through online classes with Tr. Wendy, I learnt how to tackle the scoring system of IELTS writing.
Instead of just letting creativity run free like in other English exams, IELTS writing is more about techniques. After all, they are testing for the level of your English, not your creativity. Here are a few tips from me!
Try to use a variety!
Use a variety of sentence structures.
Use a lot of synonyms (IELTS examiners love synonyms. So just remember to not keep using the same word repeatedly).
Always check your grammar
We all know how easy it is to unknowingly switch to a different tense during writing when you are getting into it. Make sure you’re using the correct tense.
Focus on structure
Doing a little brainstorming before you start writing is always a good habit. This way your ideas are more organized, and you can structure your answer to perfectly fit what the question is looking for!
I understand the frustration you may feel towards the IELTS writing. I was in your shoes too, but believe me when I say it’s not impossible. Tr. Wendy is very supportive and well-informed on all the skills the IELTS examiners are looking for, and she will help you reach your full potential. Good luck with your studies!
.
Our big appreciation to Chaw for choosing us to be part of her IELTS journey and taking the time to share the message for other IELTS test takers. We wish her all the best in her future endeavours.
